‘Piper Pacers’ raise $3,500 for Alzheimer’s Association

Piper Shores sent a large team of residents and staff – the Piper Pacers – to actively participate in the 2015 Greater Portland Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 26. In fact, Piper Shores was recognized by race organizers for fielding the largest of all teams for the event. With the help of fitness instructors, a ‘Couch to 5K’ eight week training program that focused purely on walking was developed to help residents get ready for the 5K walk around Baxter Boulevard in Portland.

The Piper Pacers also raised $3,500 to benefit the Maine Chapter of the  Alzheimer’s Association, whose mission is to eliminate the disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
