We’re proud to celebrate a meaningful leadership milestone for Piper Shores: our Chief Operating Officer and Administrator, Leanne Fiet, has been appointed Board Chair of LeadingAge Maine & New Hampshire, a vital association representing more than 50 mission-driven senior care providers across both states.
This exciting appointment marks a new chapter not just for Leanne, but for the entire region’s aging services sector—one that promises to bring deeper collaboration, stronger peer networks, and continued innovation in care.
A Vision Rooted in Excellence and Connection
Leanne’s two-year term as Board Chair began this May following LeadingAge Maine & New Hampshire’s annual meeting. She served on the board since 2021, was named Vice Chair in 2023, and has been an active contributor through committees like Government Affairs.
Now, she steps into this leadership role with a vision of enhancing member value, creating space for new providers to join the mission, and fostering a culture of high-impact peer engagement.
“It’s a true privilege to lead the Board of Directors during such an exciting and pivotal time for aging services,” Leanne shared. “Our strategic focus is on increasing member value, expanding our collective impact, and creating strong systems of collaboration across Maine and New Hampshire.”
Why LeadingAge Matters
LeadingAge Maine & New Hampshire serves as a vital resource and voice for senior care providers in the region. Through peer networking, policy insights, and shared best practices, the organization helps its members stay on the leading edge of aging services—from quality of care to workforce development and government relations.
“Leanne was unanimously recommended to lead our board,” said Lisa Henderson, Executive Director of LeadingAge ME & NH. “She embodies the collaborative spirit and innovation that our association is known for.”
Experience That Makes a Difference
With more than 30 years in healthcare leadership, Leanne has spent her career championing quality care for older adults. She’s led Piper Shores as COO and Administrator for seven years and has long been engaged with LeadingAge at both the regional and national levels.
Under her guidance, the board has prioritized engagement and introduced educational elements into their meetings—giving members more opportunities to learn about the incredible diversity of organizations that make up their network.
“One of the most important things in any senior living community is building strong, lasting relationships,” she said. “We become extended family to our residents and their loved ones. That kind of continuity of care—where teams really know the residents and are there for every step of their journey makes all the difference.”
Piper Shores’ Commitment to Leadership
At Piper Shores, we couldn’t be more excited or more supportive of Leanne’s appointment. Her leadership reflects the very heart of what we stand for: a deep dedication to quality, innovation, and the people we serve.
