Piper Shores CEO Philip Jean Appointed Secretary of ACHCA Executive Committee

Piper Shores is pleased to announce that CEO Philip Jean has been appointed Secretary of the Executive Committee of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA). This prestigious national role reflects Phil’s deep commitment to excellence in long-term care leadership and his continued service to the profession on a national level.

Jeans’s appointment was confirmed during ACHCA’s annual convention in April 2025, where members recognized his exceptional leadership as a District Director and voted him to the Executive Committee. As Secretary, Jean will play a key role in supporting governance and strategic planning efforts across the country. His responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records of board meetings, documenting major decisions, and helping guide the overall direction of ACHCA.

“Phil has consistently demonstrated remarkable leadership and commitment,” said ACHCA Board Chair Mark Prifogle. “His attention to detail and understanding of our mission make him a tremendous asset to our Executive Committee.”

This is not Jean’s first time being recognized by ACHCA. Just last year, he received the Chair Award for his outstanding service on a national volunteer committee that helped shape the future direction of the organization. Now, as Secretary, Jean will continue this important work—this time with even broader influence.

For Jean, the opportunity to step into this role is deeply meaningful. “It’s an honor to serve as Secretary for ACHCA and to support an organization that champions excellence in long-term care leadership,” he shared. “Strong ethical leadership has a profound impact on care communities like Piper Shores, and I’m proud to help support administrators nationwide.”

Phil’s one-year term as Secretary began immediately following the April election and will run through the 2026 ACHCA Annual Convention. A native of Lewiston, Maine, Jean holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine at Orono and pursued further study in healthcare management at Husson University. In addition to his role with ACHCA, he is actively engaged in numerous professional organizations, always advocating for innovation and integrity in elder care.
