That’s why Piper Shores CEO Philip Jean’s recent election as Secretary of the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) matters—not only to the senior living profession, but to the residents and families who call Piper Shores home.
For the 2026–2028 term, Jean will serve on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB). The organization establishes the licensing, credentialing, and professional standards that guide long-term care administrators across all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Most people have probably never heard of NAB, but its work helps shape nearly every senior living community in the country.
The organization develops the standards that help prepare and license the professionals responsible for leading nursing homes, assisted living communities, and life plan retirement communities. Those standards help ensure administrators have the knowledge and skills needed to navigate an increasingly complex healthcare landscape while delivering exceptional care and services.
This year, NAB approved an updated Professional Practice Analysis (PPA), which reviews the knowledge and responsibilities today’s long-term care leaders need to succeed. The updated analysis will help shape future education, licensing, and professional development for administrators across the country. As Secretary, Jean will help guide that implementation.

In addition to Jean’s national board service, Chief Operating Officer Leanne Fiet serves on the LeadingAge Maine & New Hampshire Board of Directors, helping strengthen senior living across the region. Jean was first elected Secretary of the Executive Committee of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) in 2025 and was reelected to the role earlier this year, reflecting the continued confidence of his peers and further expanding his national leadership within the profession.
